On July 20, Michelle Cooper, Education Coordinator at SOCOP. Riley Calk of Gaines Co., Kylee Jackson and Allison Hogue of Terry Co., and Macy Downs of Yoakum Co. were interviewed by Eric Horton of The Brownfield News in Terry County. They shared with Mr. Horton the history of the program, how they got involved, what they do, and why they love it and their SOCOP team so much. They were all very excited to have the opportunity to share their passions with our communities and kick off recruitment for the 2021-2022 term!

SOCOP - Southern Ogallala Conservation and Outreach Program provides education and outreach programs related to conservation of groundwater resources, specifically the Ogallala Aquifer and represent South Plains UWCD, Llano Estacado UWCD and Sandy Land UWCD. Michelle Cooper, SOCOP Education Coordinator, is a member of the Texas 4-H Water Ambassadors Program Advisory Committee.
